A WARM WELCOME: to our services this morning: especially if you are here for the first time or a visitor. Please join us for Coffee and/or Shared Lunch in the Barn after the Service.PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TWO NOTICES PRAYERFULLY AND CAREFULLY:
We need everyone who worships regularly here at Calverley Parish Church to feel that in some way or other they are involved with the ‘missionary outreach’ of our church. Whatever else you may do or not do please pray for these two ‘ventures’. John Walker (Vicar)BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY 26th SEPT: Along with a number of other parishes in the Diocese we’re supporting Back to Church Sunday (BTCS) this year. This Sunday will only ‘work’ if WE are willing to invite others to come to church WITH us. “BTCS is a simple, lightweight event which is do-able by anyone of any tradition: it is possible no matter how small a church might be. Its goals are modest and realistic. It aims to reach the people who are not in church through the people who are. ‘Success’ is one person inviting one person”. Please be thinking and praying whom you might invite to come back to church on ‘Back to Church Sunday’ WITH you or indeed to come to church for the first time. Invitation and Prayer Cards are available from the Vicar TODAY.ALPHA 2010: Our Alpha Course begins on Thursday September 9th in the Church. If you have never been on an Alpha Course may I encourage you to think about coming on this one? If you have been on a course and valued it please consider whom you might invite to come on this one? Invitation packs are available today from Pauline Corbin (Alpha Administrator) or me. John H. Walker (Vicar.)PARISH WEEKEND 2011@ Sneaton Castle 8th-10th July: Having had another very happy Parish Weekend this year, we’re now taking bookings for next year’s Parish Weekend. Greg Leavers is returning as our Worship Leader and the Speaker will be announced shortly. In the meanwhile, if you have already paid a £10 deposit for 2011 the other £10 is now due, if not please consider filling a booking form in and return with your £20 p.p. non-returnable deposit, as the church is due to send the full amount of deposits. If you have NEVER been on a Parish Weekend have a word with someone who has ...and then prayerfully consider joining us next year. The cost will be in the region of£93, plus whatever increase Sneaton imposes.BLACKBERRIES- If you venture into the Churchyard alongside the North & East boundaries you will find a lovely crop of blackberries ready for picking, a stick with a hook on the end may be helpful. The Crab Apples near the Scout Hut are also nearly ready for picking. David Badger.LLOYDS BANK– A small group of pioneers from the bank came to help us in the churchyard last week. The main groups of about a dozen volunteers will be coming to help us for the day on the 14th and 21st September. If you would like to join in you would be very welcome. For more information please contact David Badger. Tel 0113 2565840. Thank you.THIS WEEK’S DIARY:Mon 06
